Why we are getting in touch
Your estate plan is designed to give you peace of mind, knowing your wishes will be respected and your family will be provided for in the way you intended. However, it is not something to set up once and then forget about. Circumstances can change and when they do, your Will, Lasting Powers of Attorney or any Trusts you have in place may need to change too.
By checking in with you annually, we can make sure your plans still reflect your current wishes and circumstances, and that they continue to comply with the laws of England and Wales.
When changes might be needed
Here are some examples of when it may be important to update your estate planning documents:
- Family changes such as the birth of a child or grandchild, a marriage, divorce or the loss of a loved one
- Financial changes such as buying or selling property, starting or selling a business, or receiving an inheritance
- Changes in your wishes such as adding or removing beneficiaries or choosing to support a charity in your Will
- Executor or attorney changes if someone you have appointed can no longer act for you or if you would like to appoint someone new
- Legal or tax changes that may affect your estate plan
